Certified Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Safety Training (CHST)
$495.00
Course Description
Oil and gas workers must be properly trained to understand and recognize the hazards associated with Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S) gas. Hydrogen Sulfide, commonly known as sour gas, is a colorless gas that is highly toxic even at extremely low concentrations. It is heavier than air and has a characteristic “rotten egg” odor; however, exposure can quickly eliminate the sense of smell, making it especially dangerous. Contact with H₂S gas can result in serious injury or death if not properly managed.Upon completion of this training, students will be knowledgeable about OSHA and API regulations related to Hydrogen Sulfide gas, the various sources of H₂S, and its physical and chemical properties, along with the health effects it can have on the human body. Participants will also understand the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for H₂S exposure control and learn how to respond effectively in the event of a Hydrogen Sulfide gas exposure.
