Course Description
Learn how to establish, maintain, and monitor a respirator program following the requirements in 29 CFR 1910.134. This course covers the technical aspects of proper selection and use of respiratory protection and evaluates compliance with OSHA's standard using the compliance directive and the "Small Entity Compliance Guide." Topics include the Respiratory Protection Program, Fit Testing Demonstration, Selection of Respirators, Maintenance, and Care.The Respiratory Protection Standard, 29 CFR 1910.134, requires a written program for respirator use, medical evaluations of respirator users, fit testing of respirator models used on potential wearers, and training of respirator users. The Respiratory Protection Train-the-Trainer program prepares attendees to coordinate the respiratory protection program, conduct training, and perform both qualitative and quantitative fit testing.
