Course Description

The IASHEP Certified Industrial Hygiene Practitioner (CIHP) training course is a 64-hour introductory program on fundamental industrial hygiene principles. It is designed for entry-level industrial hygienists, safety professionals, and environmental professionals with industrial hygiene responsibilities. In this course, you will receive five (5) days of classroom hands-on training and lectures to ensure students understand how elemental air contaminants, noise, ventilation, heat, and illumination surveys are planned and measurements conducted. Students will then be able to perform measurements or better understand how to specify requirements for obtaining contractual industrial hygiene services. The class continues with self-study with instructor assistance if needed. As an IASHEP Certified Industrial Hygiene Practitioner, you will use your knowledge of science, engineering, and psychology to identify and evaluate hazards, develop controls to protect workers, and implement safety, health, and environmental programs in the workplace. This involves anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and recommending solutions to risks from harmful substances, conditions, and activities.
