Course Description

The IASHEP Certified General Industry – 10 Hours (OSHA 10HRS) course is an entry-level occupational safety and health training program designed for employees, supervisors, and employers working in general industry environments. Based on OSHA's recommended 10-Hour Outreach Training curriculum, this course provides participants with the essential knowledge needed to recognize workplace hazards, understand OSHA regulations, and promote a safe and healthy work environment.

General industry workplaces such as manufacturing facilities, warehouses, healthcare organizations, distribution centers, retail operations, logistics companies, maintenance departments, and industrial plants expose employees to a variety of workplace hazards. This course introduces participants to OSHA safety standards and best practices that help prevent injuries, illnesses, and workplace incidents while supporting regulatory compliance.

Participants will gain a practical understanding of OSHA General Industry standards, workers' rights, employer responsibilities, hazard communication (HazCom), personal protective equipment (PPE), walking-working surfaces, machine guarding, electrical safety, fire prevention, emergency action plans, ergonomics, material handling, workplace hazard recognition, and incident reporting procedures.
