Course Description

The Certified Petroleum Environmental, Health & Safety Manager – Drilling & Servicing Certification (PEHSM) is an advanced professional certification program designed for Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) managers, pipeline safety professionals, drilling supervisors, operations managers, engineers, contractors, and compliance officers working in the petroleum, oil and gas, and hazardous liquid pipeline industries. This course provides participants with the leadership knowledge and technical expertise required to manage comprehensive safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance programs across drilling, servicing, pipeline construction, operation, and maintenance activities.

The petroleum industry presents complex occupational and environmental risks, including high-pressure pipeline systems, hazardous liquids, flammable materials, confined spaces, heavy equipment, excavation activities, mechanical failures, hazardous energy, and environmental releases. Organizations require qualified safety leaders who can ensure OSHA compliance, strengthen operational performance, and protect workers, communities, and the environment. This certification prepares participants to lead effective Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs while promoting continuous improvement and regulatory excellence.

Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of pipeline safety regulations, OSHA requirements, petroleum industry standards, hazard identification, risk assessment, pipeline integrity management, drilling and servicing safety, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, permit-to-work systems, emergency response planning, contractor safety management, incident investigation, compliance auditing, environmental protection, spill prevention, public awareness programs, regulatory reporting, and leadership strategies for high-risk petroleum operations.

Through practical case studies, pipeline scenarios, and real-world industry examples, participants will learn how to evaluate operational risks, develop safety policies, conduct compliance inspections, manage contractor performance, investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and lead safety initiatives that improve operational reliability and regulatory compliance throughout petroleum facilities.

Upon successful completion of the Certified Petroleum Environmental, Health & Safety Manager – Drilling & Servicing Certification (PEHSM) course, participants will possess the expertise to lead safety teams, oversee environmental and regulatory compliance programs, improve worker protection, strengthen pipeline integrity, and promote a proactive safety culture across oil and gas drilling, servicing, transmission, and distribution operations.
